PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content transfer system, a client apparatus, a server apparatus, and a method for transferring the content which reduces burdens on a user in content transfer from the client apparatus to the server apparatus. SOLUTION: A client 2 transmits a request for confirming available functions with respect to a medium format of content to be uploaded (upload content) to servers 3A, 3B (S113, S115). In response to the available function confirmation request from the client 2, the servers 3A, 3B transmit a response showing the available functions with respect to the medium format of the upload content (Steps S114, S116).
