Winding plastics reinforcements in several layers about hose blank - using an extruder which applies the reinforcements as the blank rotates and passes through it

Mfr. by winding, of hoses reinforced by layer(s) of parallel, superposed, coils embedded in the wall of the hose is described. The reinforcements are made of a thermoplastic which is extruded transversely to the axially and rotatingly advancing hose blank. At the time of application the reinforcements are still in plastic state, and are then covered by an exterior part layer of the wall of the hose. Used ofr mfr. of pressure-resistant rubber of plastics hose. Rate of prodn. substantially exceeds that of prior art methods which do not normally exceed 1-3 m/min. for conventional braiding or spinning of the reinforcement around the matrix.
