摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defective pixel detection method and an image processing apparatus, which can accurately detect a position, in which image correction is required, to accurately perform image correction even in the case where normal pixels adjacent to a line defect generate abnormal output signals due to an influence of the line defect. SOLUTION: For an image for defect detection, one-dimensional smoothing processing is performed, in a prescribed direction being one direction of array directions of pixels, to generate a first smoothed image. The first smoothed image is subtracted from the image for defect detection to generate a first image. For the first image, the one-dimensional smoothing processing is performed, in a direction orthogonal to the prescribed direction, to generate a second smoothed image.
