PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the driving device of a transfer device to be designed compactly. SOLUTION: The driving device of the transfer device is designed compactly by driving the joints 8a of the articulate arms 8 and the sides of respective rear arms 8c rotatively with servomotors 11, 12, while supporting advancing/retreating opening/closing driving devices 7 for making an advancing/retreating motion and an opening/closing motion perform with articulate arms 8 having a joints with which the sides of both ends of a pair of beams 1, 2 are rotatable on a horizontal working plane including the direction in which beams 1, 2 are extended and the direction in which they are operated, connecting the sides of both ends of the beams 1, 2 rotatably on the working plane to the sides of the tops of the front arms 8b on the front sides of the joints 8a of these respective articulate arms 8 and supporting the sides of the base ends of the rear arms 8c on the rear sides of the joint 8a on the working plane with ascending/descending driving bases 6 of the ascending/descending driving device 3.
