PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device which can reduce the switching loss to a smaller size and have high applicability to larger current generation. SOLUTION: A reactor used for a basic structure of the power supply device 10 is established as a primary reactor L1P of a coupling reactor L1, and an auxiliary circuit 12 has a secondary reactor L1S of the coupling reactor L1 and an auxiliary capacitor C2. The auxiliary circuit 12 is constituted by connecting the auxiliary capacitor C2 between power supply lines 11a and 11b, arranged between a switch S1 and a commutation diode D2. During an ON period of the switch S1; the auxiliary capacitor C2 is charged based on the voltage generated in the secondary reactor L1S; and the voltage between terminals of the switch S1 is reduced, in preparation for the next off period of the switch S1 and thus attain reduction in the switching loss.
