A zero current transformer and an electric leak detector having excellent sensitivity and reduced manufacturing costs are provided by wrapping a coil in a precise manner around the periphery of a magnetic core embedded in a circuit board. The zero current transformer is equipped with a printed circuit board, an annular magnetic core embedded in the aforementioned printed circuit board, and a coil that is formed in the aforementioned printed circuit board, wound toroidally around the periphery of the aforementioned annular magnetic core, and provided with a winding structure having both progressive and regressive windings.
