The converter has receiving devices (19) attached to common down-leads (13, 14) in an antenna signal distribution network. The receiving devices output control data for controlling intermediate frequency converters (12). An input is provided for connection to one of the receivers. An output is provided for connection to the down-leads. A communication unit is provided with a data input for unidirectional reading of the control data. Communication interfaces are provided for bidirectional data transmission of portion of the read control data over the output. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling intermediate frequency converters in an antenna signal distribution network.
