CULTURE METHOD OF BIOSURFACTANT-PRODUCING MICROORGANISM, BACILLUS SUBTILIS JK-1

PURPOSE: A Bacillus subtilis JK-1 which produces biosurfactant is provided to purify contaminated sea water and to remove oil remained in sand or rock. CONSTITUTION: A Bacillus subtilis JK-1 which produces biosurfactant with oil decomposition ability is cultured in a medium containing 1.0%(w/v) of carbon source, 0.5%(w/v) of nitrogen source, soluble starch, skim milk, and inorganic salt. The inorganic salt is KNO_3, KH_2PO_4, MgSO_4, or NaCl. The Bacillus subtilis JK-1 is isolated from fermented soybean paste.
