<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device wherein brightness of a non-self-luminous display unit is improved by effectively using light from a backlight. <P>SOLUTION: In the display device, at least the non-self-luminous display unit having a translucent area capable of transmitting light and a light shielding area intercepting light, a reflecting thin plate, and the backlight including a reflecting sheet for guiding light from a light source to the non-self-luminous display unit are sequentially disposed to face one another. The reflecting thin plate includes at least an opening area formed so as to face the translucent area of the non-self-luminous display unit and a reflecting area formed so as to face at least part of the light shielding area of the non-self-luminous display unit, and the reflecting area is configured to reflect the light from the backlight toward the backlight side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
