A dry rectifier arrangement comprises rectifier elements and co-operating conductors arranged in a stack in a housing, one part of which has projections extending from its edge adapted to initially aid in guiding it into position relative to a second part and is of thermoplastic synthetic material, wherein the housing parts are joined by thermoplastic deformation of the projections and/or either by thermoplastic plastic of the edge of the first part or by joining the edges of the parts together if the second part is also of thermoplastic material. Rectifier plates 5 are stacked in the cylindrical cavity 3a of a cupshaped member 1 of thermoplastic material and are spaced by dished resilient connecting members 4a which have striplike extensions 4b housed in radial extensions 3b of the cavity. A closure member 7 rests on a platform formed by the ribs 8 defining these radial extensions which terminate below the lip of the cup, and is guided into position by engagement of bevelled apertures 7b at its edge with pin-like upward extensions 1a of the lip of the cup, which after assembly are deformed by heat and pressure to hold the parts together. The plates are clamped together by spring 6 located by boss 7a on the inside of the closure member, and the strips 4b leave the housing past the edge of the closure member which is formed with clearance grooves. When plates of smaller diameter than the cavity are used individual rings of insulating material are used to fill the gap, or a common sleeve with recesses or slots for the connecting strips may surround the stack. The housing may be mounted by means of a bolt 2, the head of which is moulded into the cup.</p> |
