PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peptide useful for treating skeletal diseases, and a formulation thereof. SOLUTION: A peptide sequence comprising 10-50 amino acids, is disclosed. The sequence is characterized by containing at least one of an integrin binding motif such as an RGD sequence, a glycosaminoglycan binding motif and a calcium binding motif, together with the remainder of amino acids contiguous with the RGD sequence in a matrix extracellular phosphoglycoprotein. The sequence may be formulated for injection, or dispersed in a toothpaste, mouthwash or gum patch, enhancing bone/tooth growth and/or reducing excessive urinary phosphate loss from the body by administrating thereof.
