PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder which records data for recording digital broadcast and reproducing it on a mobile device. SOLUTION: The recorder includes: a determination part (204) for determining whether a selected channel includes high-layer contents and low-layer contents or includes only the high-layer contents; a recording processing part (206) for recording data of the contents in a recording part (105); and a means (203) for encoding the high-layer contents to produce data in a format of low-layer contents. When the selected channel includes high-layer contents and low-layer contents, both the high-layer contents and the low-layer contents are recorded together. When the selected channel includes only high-layer contents, the high-layer contents are recorded and data in the format of low-layer contents produced by encoding the high-layer contents are recorded.
