<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-pressure discharge lamp in which an electrode axle of an electrode and metal foil are jointed and sealed in a sealing part, and a plurality of grooves in axial direction are formed on the outer circumference of the part in the sealing part of the electrode axle, and which has a structure in which the electrode axle is not bent and broken due to stress concentration at the end part on the metal foil side of the grooves. <P>SOLUTION: The electrode axle has a remaining part where the grooves are not formed on the metal foil side, and at least the end part on the metal foil side of the grooves formed is irregular without coinciding in the axis direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
