<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-contact ultrasonic tonometer which accurately detects an intraocular pressure even when reverberation vibration generated during ultrasonic transmission occurs. <P>SOLUTION: The non-contact ultrasonic tonometer comprises an ultrasonic probe having a piezoelectric ceramic diaphragm for transmitting ultrasonic pulses to the eye of a subject using air as a medium and an operation control section for controlling driving of the probe and for acquiring the intraocular pressure of the eye of the subject on the basis of the characteristics of a corneal reflection wave received by the probe. The non-contact ultrasonic tonometer further has a reverberation suppressing means which inputs to the diaphragm a reverberation suppressing signal having a phase opposite to that of the reverberation vibration of the diaphragm when a predetermined time passes after an intraocular pressure measuring pulse signal is inputted to the diaphragm. The operation control section measures the intraocular pressure using the diaphragm in a condition where the reverberation due to ultrasonic pulse emission is suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
