<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrooptical device equipped with a liquid crystal display device and an optical sensor which can detect contact or proximity between a screen and an indicator even when external light and an image to be displayed are dark without causing an increase in a circuit size or a decrease in aperture ratio. <P>SOLUTION: The electrooptical device 500 includes a liquid crystal display device having a liquid crystal element LC and a backlight 2 for illuminating it for emitting the light that has been emitted from the backlight 2 and transmitted the liquid crystal element LC from the screen, and displaying an image on the screen, and a sensing unit circuit UB for receiving the light incident from the screen of the liquid crystal display device and detecting the intensity of the light received, and, based on the intensity detected by the sensing unit circuit UB, detects the position indicated by the indicator. The electrooptical device 500 causes a display unit circuit UA to display the gradation according to image data in a horizontal effective scanning period, and the gradation of the highest luminance in a horizontal flyback period. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
