<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily acquiring quantitative information for describing hair characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The method for acquiring hair characteristic data includes an image acquiring process and a data acquiring process. The image acquiring process is for acquiring a cross-sectional image of hair 50 in which a plurality of fibrous tissues (ortho cells 52a and para cells 52b) composing cortex cells 52 contained in human hair 50 are visualized discriminably from each other.
