PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that a traveling vehicle with an assist motor operated by holding a pair of right and left bar handles with strain gauges (load cell) sometimes starts only by carelessly touching the handle, tends to make an error in operation timing between the right and left handles in a starting operation, and is difficult to maintain its smooth and exact starting. SOLUTION: The traveling vehicle with the assist motor travels by the operation of the pair of projected right and left handles 2 having the strain gauges 1 respectively, wherein each of right and left front wheels 4 is driven and rotated by the output of a motor 3 according to the operation force. In the traveling vehicle with the assist motor, a holding sensor 5 detecting the holding state of the respective right and left handles 2 is provided. The traveling vehicle can be in a starting state only when a holding state is detected by the right and left sensor 5 and a strain state of the right and left strain gauges 1 is not detected, and starts traveling by the following strain detection in one of right and left or both strain gauges 1.
