#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves bringing a separating-counter support into a flat material band (2) e.g. aluminum sheet, magnesium sheet or steel sheet, for supporting overlapping of edges (6, 7) of the band in a cross-section corresponding to a closed profile i.e. hollow profile. The overlapping is separated against the support by laser cutting in a non-machined manner, so that separating edges developed at the edges forming the overlapping form abutting edges, which lie opposite to each other.
