The invention relates to a method for obtaining a low-density and clumping type litter for pets, which comprises the following phases: a) Grinding a mineral with a content of attapulgite greater than 50% by weight and variable contents of other clays and/or mineral species, to obtain a granulate with a particle size less than 20 mm,
b) Kneading the ground material of phase a) with water in a percentage of 20-80% by weight of the mixture,
c) Extruding the mass of phase b) to obtain pellets, cylinders, rods or blocks, of various shapes and sizes,
d) Drying the material extruded in phase c) by natural means, forced means or a combination of both,
e) Grinding to obtain a granulate, and
f) Sorting Said method allows obtaining a lightweight granulate product with a high liquid absorption capacity and high clumping capacity. |
