The method involves generating an intelligent decryption key (27) from a digital value (18) and a password (20) by sending the value to a dongle manager (17), where the password is obtained by the dongle manager from a user (21) through an input interface. Encrypted sensitive data is decrypted using a symmetrical cryptographic algorithm and the decryption key for obtaining decrypted sensitive data. The decrypted sensitive data is re-encrypted. A part of the decrypted sensitive data or the entire decrypted sensitive data is used.
