A compact clothes line comprises a cylindrical housing and rotatable reel 6 for winding the clothes line 14. Reel 6 is provided with winding handle 3 which folds out in use, and when not in use folds flat against the side 1 of the housing to engage with one of several cavities 7 in the side of the housing to lock reel 6, preventing further rotation. Cavities 9 in the side wall 21 may be provided for storing clothes pegs 12, and may include central walls 8. Both the line 14 and housing may be equipped with a hook or clip 15, 19 for attaching both ends of the compact clothes line to a suitable point. |
