PURPOSE:To improve a durability of a rubber roller comprising a metallic roll core on an outer circumferential surface which is arranged with a rubber covering layer with a curable resin impregnated fiber reinforcing layer interposed therebetween, by providing into the reinforcing layer a layer comprising nonwoven fabric impregnated with a special mixture. CONSTITUTION:A curable resin impregnated fiber reinforcing layer 2 is formed on an outer circumferencial surface of a roll core 1 of iron, copper, stainless steel or the like and having a plurality of narrowly spaced parallel grooves on its surface. This reinforcing layer 2 includes two layers 2a, 2b, and the first layer 2a consists of a wound layer of an inorganic fiber cloth impregnated with a curable resin. The second layer 2b consists of a wound layer of nonwoven fabric impregnated with a liquid mixture including a liquid curable resin similar to said cruable resin and a fine inorganic powder. As the inorganic powder in the second layer 2b may be used glass bead, clay powder, silica powder, etc. On this reinforcing layer 2 is formed a polyurethane rubber covering layer 3 to complete a rubber roll. |
