Process for producing dichloropropanol according to which glycerol is subjected to a reaction in a liquid reaction medium with a chlorinating agent comprising hydrogen chloride, wherein a continuous or periodic withdrawal of a fraction (I) comprising at least water, dichloropropanol and hydrogen chloride is carried out, wherein said fraction (I) is introduced into a distillation step, wherein a fraction (II) containing at least water and hydrogen chloride in an amount of less than 10 % by weight of hydrogen chloride and of at least 1 mg of hydrogen chloride/kg, is separated from said distillation step, and wherein said fraction (II) is recycled to the distillation step. |
