An image heating device comprising a heat generating member comprised of a conductive rotatable body, an exciting coil that is placed opposite a peripheral surface of the heat generating member and makes the heat generating member generate heat by electromagnetic induction, and a core that is made of a magnetic material, wherein a length of the core in a direction of a rotation axis of the heat generating member is shorter than a length of the heat generating member; and the core is placed opposite the heat generating member over the exciting coil and covers part of the exciting coil.
