Water containing composition comprises (a) at least one organosilane with 1-3 substituents, which are hydrolyzable in water, and 1-3 substituents, which are not hydrolyzable in water, where the non-hydrolyzable substituent exhibits at least an amino function; (b) optionally further organosilane with 1-3 substituents, which are hydrolyzable in water, and 1-3 substituents, which are not hydrolyzable in water; (c) at least a polydiol e.g. polyether diol; and (d) at least a univalent alcohol, where the total number of the substituents on silicon atom of the organosilane is 4. Water containing composition comprises (a) at least one organosilane with 1-3 substituents, which are hydrolyzable in water, and 1-3 substituents, which are not hydrolyzable in water, where the non-hydrolyzable substituent exhibits at least an amino function; (b) optionally further organosilane with 1-3 substituents, which are hydrolyzable in water, and 1-3 substituents, which are not hydrolyzable in water; (c) at least a polydiol, which is polyether diol, polyester diol and/or polycarbonate diol; and (d) at least a univalent alcohol with a molecular weight of less than 100 g/mole, where the total number of the substituents on silicon atom of the organosilane is 4. An independent claim is included for contacting a corrosion protective coatings on a metal surface comprising optionally cleaning and degreasing the metal surface, providing a wet film of the composition, and drying the wet film applied metal surface preferably at atmospheric pressure and greater than 15[deg] C to less than 200[deg] C, preferably less than 100[deg] C.
