PURPOSE:To reduce up-take of blood cells, etc. into the serum separated centrifugally and to improve the adhesive property to the wall of a separating tube, by using a bottomed tube and a blood separating agent consisting essentially of alpha-olefin-fumaric acid copolymer. CONSTITUTION:A thixotropic gelatinous blood separating agent consists essentially of alpha-olefin-fumaric acid diester copolymer of viscosity of 10,000-200,000cp (25 deg.C) as shown in the formula (R1 is H or alkyl group which has 1-20 carbon atoms and is the same or different in a same molecule, R2 and R3 are alkyl groups of straight or branched chain having 1-15 carbon atoms, respectively, or alkyl group of branched chain having 16-20 carbon atoms, and n is an integral number of 5-30 and a viscosity and density modifier as an additive. This alpha- olefin-fumaric acid diester copolymer is inactive to blood, shows no possibility of adsorption of blood, hemolysis etc. and maintains its stability for a long time. |
