A drilling and shut-off device for creating a branch line on a main pipe which carries water, consisting of a housing having three pipe nozzles which are arranged in a T-shape with respect to one another, of the two pipe nozzles which are arranged on the same axis as one another, the one is constructed as a connecting nozzle and is used for the connection to the main pipe, and the second is used for the connection to the branch line and, before fitment of the branch line, is used for placing the drilling device on in order to drill through the wall of the main pipe, while, on the third pipe nozzle, which is arranged at right angles to the two pipe nozzles which run on the same axis as one another, an adjusting device for a shut-off valve is held, which valve interacts with a valve seat provided in the housing, and the shut-off valve which can be inserted at right angles to the branch line has a truncated-conical shape and interacts with a truncated-conical valve seat of the housing, and the pipe nozzle which is arranged on the same axis as the connecting nozzle is likewise installed for the optional mounting of the adjusting device for the shut-off valve, and the housing has a second truncated-conical valve seat, which cuts the first valve seat, for the truncated-conical shut-off valve.
