PURPOSE: Driving device and method of the motor of an air conditioner are provided to simply reduce speed ripple due to load torque since one of a plurality of load pattern ripples, which has minimum speed ripple, is calculated. CONSTITUTION: A motor is driven according to a given speed instruction(S610). A first mechanical speed and a second mechanical speed, which correspond to the speed instruction and a reference speed in a given range, are successively detected (S620). A maximum speed of mechanical angle, which corresponds to the maximum speed ripple of the motor, is calculated based on the detected first and second mechanical angles(S630). One of a plurality of load torque pattern tables, which has minimum speed ripple according to the maximum speed of mechanical angle, is selected(S640). According to the selected load pattern table, the load torque of the motor is compensated to drive the motor(S650). |
