PURPOSE: A system for preventing accidents on an escalator is provided to remove a height difference between a horizontal part and an inclined part, occurring in the stoppage of an escalator. CONSTITUTION: A system for preventing accidents on an escalator comprises a guide rail member(100) and a driving unit(200). The guide rail member comprises a plurality of horizontal guide rail members(110) and an inclined guide rail member(130). The horizontal guide rail members and the inclined guide rail member can rotate around a reference axis(151). The driving unit is the combination of rack and pinion.
