发明名称 MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM
摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a reduction in cost and an improvement in magnetic characteristic and corrosion resistance by forming a magnetic layer consisting essentially of Fe and contg. Co, Ni and Cr and making the content ratio of Cr in the surface layer part of the magnetic layer on the side where the magnetic layer and a nonmagnetic base body contacts higher than the content ratio of Cr in the inside of the magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic layer of a magnetic recording medium formed by a deposition method consists essentially of Fe and contains Co and Ni, Cr and is further provided with a concn. distribution in such a way that the compsn. concn. of Cr increases on the surface part of the magnetic layer on the base body side. Said magnetic layer is formed by utilizing a vapor deposition method by induction heating, by resistance heating, by electron beam, sputtering, etc. The adhesion of the magnetic layer to the base body is determined mainly near the surface where the base body and the magnetic layer contacts and therefore if the content of Cr in the magnetic layer near said surface is increased and Cr is decreased in the inside of the layer, the improvement in the adhesive force to the base body and satisfactory magnetic characteristic are simultaneously attained. The high concn. of Cr on the boundary side with the base body is advantageous in terms of an improvement in corrosion resistance.
