PURPOSE:To shorten a diagnosis time by providing a memory diagnostic portion and executing the diagnosis of a processor and that of a main memory in parallel. CONSTITUTION:An operation processor (BPU)1 reads a test program in a test program using region 7 in a main memory 6 in order to execute a function test and the read test program calculates the address range of a space area 8 and is set to a memory diagnostic portion 2 through a diagnosis control interface 9. Then, the test program issues a test start command through the diagnosis control interface 9 with respect to the memory diagnostic portion 2 at the time when the function test of BPU1 is performed. In parallel with the function test of BPU1 the memory diagnostic portion 2 executes a diagnosis of the space area 8 of a main memory 6 by control of a main memory control device 3 through a diagnostic interface 5. In the case where the diagnosis by the memory diagnostic portion 2 is completed or is abnormal, thereafter, the memory diagnostic portion 2 makes the completion report to the test program through the diagnosis control interface 9. |
