VIDEO ENCODING/DECODING METHOD AND APPARATUS THEREOF

PURPOSE: A video encoding apparatus, capable of facilitating the conversion and transmission of processed video information is provided to integrately process video information to existing two-dimensional terminals and a tangible terminal in ubiquitous environment. CONSTITUTION: An acquisition unit(310) acquires a plurality of video images of the different viewpoints. An encoding unit(320) applies multi-viewpoint video coding to one of multi-viewpoint video images. The encoding unit applies scalable video coding to a plurality of viewpoints. An output unit(330) generates output bit-stream by the combination of itstreams by viewpoint and layer of the encoder.
