The device has a maintenance strap (10) for maintaining a plate type cover element (2) on corresponding part of a body, where end of the maintenance strap is connected to the plate type cover element by a detachable attachment (15). Fitting units are equipped on the plate type cover element. A T-shaped tab is connected with a T-shaped groove (30) on the plate type cover element, and slides in the T-shaped groove between an unlocked position and a locked position. The maintenance strap is adjustable in length.
