PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an existing buried pipe renovating apparatus and renovating method that can easily crush an existing buried pipe connected by a metallic collar. SOLUTION: This renovating apparatus and renovating method includes cutting a plurality of circumferential parts of the metallic collar beforehand with a cutting means, jetting an excavation liquid to the ground around the existing buried pipe to soften it, and then, while crushing the concrete portion of the existing buried pipe from the inner peripheral side with a conical crushing means, pushing the collar radially outward to displace it around the existing buried pipe and to leave it there. A rotary blade or a sticking blade for breaking the concrete portion and the metallic collar integrally from the inside of the buried pipe is usable as the cutting means.
