PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polycarbonate copolymer excellent in solubility to an organic solvent and wear-resistance, a coating liquid using it, and an electrophotographic photosensitive article using it. SOLUTION: The polycarbonate copolymer includes a structure comprising a repetition unit of formula (1) and has a mole copolymerization composition represented by Ar<SP>2</SP>/(Ar<SP>1</SP>+Ar<SP>2</SP>) of 25-47 mol%. In formula (1), Ar<SP>1</SP>represents a group represented by formula (2), Ar<SP>2</SP>represents a divalent group derived from a substituted or non-substituted biphenol, dihydroxy naphthalene, hydroquinone, resorcinol or the like, and n is the average repetition number of Ar<SP>1</SP>block and represents a number of 1.09-3.0.
