PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for a nonaqueous secondary battery, capable of improving shutdown characteristics, heat resistance, flame retardance, and also cycle characteristics of a battery. SOLUTION: The separator for the nonaqueous secondary battery includes a porus base material formed by containing thermoplastic resin, and a heat-resistant porus layer formed by containing heat-resistant resin and laminated on one surface or both surfaces of the base material. The heat-resistant porus layer includes inorganic filler which generates endoergic reaction at 200-400°C. The inorganic filler contains water-soluble sodium in an amount of 1-300 ppm in terms of a weight of Na<SB>2</SB>O. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
