PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader capable of transferring image data of which transfer to a removable media corresponding to a document has failed to a transfer destination device. SOLUTION: The image reader includes a generation means of generating image data corresponding to a document to be read, a transfer means of transferring image data corresponding to a document to the removable media connected to a connection means, a storage means of storing the image data for each job relating to transfer of image data of which transfer has failed, a storage means of storing job history information including storage destination information of image data stored in the storage means, and an execution means of reading image data relating to job history information to be designated among one or more pieces of job history information stored in the storage means from the storage means and executing transfer processing of the read image data to the transfer destination device.
