PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel process for producing a biodiesel fuel, wherein removal of impurities is carried out by means of an ion exchange resin in two steps, sufficiently making use of the properties of the ion exchange resin and efficiently removing impurities from the biodiesel fuel; and to provide an apparatus for producing a biodiesel fuel. SOLUTION: The apparatus 10 for producing a biodiesel fuel includes a reaction vessel 12 containing a basic calcium compound, wherein a biodiesel fuel is synthesized by transesterification of a raw fat and a raw alcohol. A reaction product before removal of an excess alcohol by evaporation is supplied to a first resin tube 52 containing an acidic ion exchange resin to remove calcium. The reaction product after removal of an excess alcohol by evaporation is supplied to a second resin tube 54 containing an ion exchange resin to remove a small amount of glycerin.
