PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting method for a difficult-to-cut material capable of surely restraining wear of a cutting tool at the time of cutting by using the cutting tool in which a cutting edge is formed with a diamond. SOLUTION: The cutting method for a difficult-to-cut material is used for cutting the difficult-to-cut material 2 by using the cutting tool 1 in which the cutting edge 1a is formed with a diamond. The difficult-to-cut material 2 is cut by using the cutting tool 1 in which roughness Rmax of the cutting edge 1a as a cutting tool 1 is 3 μm or more while supplying a cutting oil formed into fine droplets on the surface of the cutting edge 1a of the cutting tool 1 at the time of cutting.
