METHOD FOR ASSESSING INSTABILITY IN LUMBAR BACKBONE DIVISION

A method for assessing instability in the lumbar backbone division provides for the functional X-ray films in lateral projection followed by marking the bodies of vertebrae. In X-ray film, two vertical lines are drawn in the areas of cranial and caudal vertebrae through the interception point between the radix of the arch of vertebra and the posterior surface of the body of vertebra. Then the line coinciding with the upper lamina of caudal vertebra and the second line corresponding to the lower lamina of cranial vertebra are drawn. The perpendicular is drawn from the interception point between the vertical line and the second line in the area of the cranial vertebra to the first line. The distance between the point of perpendicular line intercepted on the first line and the interception point between the vertical line and the first line in the area of the caudal vertebra is indicative of the vertebral displacement and the instability in the lumbar backbone division.
