<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for driving a brushless three-phase DC motor shortening the time required for starting the motor and a driving controller for the motor. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for driving the brushless three-phase DC motor, an estimation range consisting of a first angular range up to a position π/2-radian angular-displaced in the direction of rotation X from a reference position positioning a nonconducting phase winding (a W-phase winding 13) and a second angular range having the relationship of a point symmetry with the first angular range regarding a center of rotation is detected as the position of a magnetic pole for a rotor 15 in response to the result of a comparison between an induced voltage and a reference voltage at a position detecting step. The positioning angle of the rotor 15 is determined within an angular range not included within the detected estimation range, but within a range (the range of 0 to 60° and 330 to 360°) consisting of an angle within a π/2 radian, at a position determining step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
