The method involves guiding waste heat into a vehicle inner area (4) by heat convection, thermal conduction and/or radiant heat by a fluid circuit (13) that is thermally coupled with a charging device (5) and/or a battery (6). Actual temperature of the vehicle inner area is detected and compared with target temperature of the vehicle inner area. The vehicle inner area is heated by waste heat of the charging device and/or the battery when the actual temperature is deviated from the target temperature. An independent claim is also included for a heating device for an inner area of a plug-in-hybrid vehicle.
