A transmitting method for a relay link is disclosed. The method includes: in the payload of the relay medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (R-MAC PDU), after the relay MAC control element (R-MAC CE) to be transmitted between an evolved Node B (eNB) and a relay node (RN) and MAC service data unit (MAC SDU) attached to each node are encapsulated, R-MAC PDU is transmitted on the backhaul link between the eNB and the RN. A transmitting apparatus and a receiving apparatus are disclosed also. In the transmitting apparatus, an encapsulating unit is used for encapsulating R-MAC CE to be transmitted between the eNB and the RN and MAC SDU attached to each node in the payload of R-MAC PDU, and R-MAC PDU is transmitted to a transmitting unit. Transmission performance on the relay link can be improved by using the method and the apparatus according to present invention.
