PURPOSE: A light emitting device and a light unit using the same are provided to efficiently discharge heat from a light emitting device by contacting a heat radiation member with a substrate or external support member. CONSTITUTION: A body(10) comprises a cavity. An electrode passes through the body. One side of the electrode is arranged in the cavity and is arranged on the other side of the body. A heat radiation member(50) includes a main frame and a sub frame. The uppermost surface of the main frame is wider than the lowermost surface of the main frame. The sub frame includes an incline. A light emitting diode(20) is installed on the heat radiation member and is electrically connected to the electrode.
