<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical multiplexer/demultiplexer having improved manufacturing yield. <P>SOLUTION: The optical multiplexer/demultiplexer 1, in which an optical signal (wavelength division multiplex optical signal) including a plurality of wavelength components is input from a single or a plurality of first waveguides 3, the optical signal (wavelength division multiplex optical signal) is demultiplexed, and a plurality of optical signals for each wavelength component are output from a second waveguide array composed of a plurality of second waveguides 7, is composed of a plurality of elements, wherein at least one element of the plurality of elements is a loss compensation element including a part of the second waveguide array composed by dividing the plurality of second waveguides 7, 10, and the plurality of elements including the loss compensation element are respectively connected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
