The invention relates to a method for building the foundations of a construction of the type in which the said foundations form a dwarf wall following the shape, in plan, of the construction, and in which the floor, such as a concrete slab, rests on the said dwarf wall. In order to construct the said dwarf wall, formwork 4, formed of three vertical parts separated by ties, is placed on the ground, the two parts 5, 6 located towards the outside of the building being higher than the inside part 7, and concrete is poured into this formwork in order thereby to form a dwarf wall having a jump towards the inside of the building, and the floor is constructed by making it rest on the said jump, the said formwork being made of thermally insulating material. <IMAGE>
