PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for performing high-speed interpolation to generate a free viewpoint video at high speed. SOLUTION: First coordinates and second coordinates in a ray space are obtained relative to the pixels of a first image and the pixels of a second image, respectively. First depth values are calculated from the first coordinates, and second depth values are calculated from the second coordinates. Pixel values and first depth values of the first image are rotationally transformed by an angle obtained based on a first image position and a third image position. First pixel values and first depth values of the third image are calculated. Pixel values and second depth values of the second image are rotationally transformed by an angle obtained based on a second image position and the third image position. Second pixel values and second depth values of the third image are calculated.
