PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underground tank capable of ensuring strength by a simple constitution and reducing time and effort for repairing. SOLUTION: The underground tank 1 has an inner shell 2 and an outer shell 6 made of an FRP and is laid underground. The underground tank 1 includes a first detecting layer 3 arranged on the outside of the inner shell 2 and for detecting the damage of the inner shell 2, a second detecting layer 5 arranged on the inside of the outer shell 6 and for detecting the damage of the outer shell 6, and an intermediate shell 4 arranged between the first and second detecting layers 3 and 5. The intermediate shell 4 can includes a cushioning reinforcing layer 4a made of a foamed resin and glass mat layers 4b and 4c arranged on both sides thereof. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
