PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination system in which setting regarding lighting of an illumination fixture can be carried out easily by using a portable terminal such as a mobile phone as a remote control transmitter. SOLUTION: In a database 5 of a Web server 4 on a network, an application for illumination fixture operation is stored, and from the Web application server 4, the portable terminal 3 as the remote control transmitter downloads the application for illumination fixture operation stored in a database 5 of the Web application server 4. Then, according to the downloaded application for the illumination fixture operation, a signal for setting is emitted, and by receiving that signal by the illumination fixture 2, the setting regarding the lighting is carried out.
