PURPOSE:To obviate the formation of a flash and the remaining of carbon and the remaining of blowholes in a casting by preparing a dummy of a combustible foamed material incorporated therewith with a combustion assistant and providing a gas vent hole to the dummy. CONSTITUTION:The dummy 10 coated with the combustion assistant 19 and a heat resistant mold coating material 20 is molded in a sand in a molding flask and while the air is sucked through a suction port 24, a molten metal is poured into the mold through a pouring port 16. The molten metal burns the dummy 10 and the combustion gas is passed through the sand and is sucked through a suction pipe and a hole 13 of a partition plate. The combustion assistant is incorporated into the dummy 10 and since the combustion assistant is coated on the surface as well, the dummy burns thoroughly. The gas vent hole 11 is provided to the dummy 10 and therefore the combustion gas is quickly released. The remaining of the carbon is thus completely obviated. |
